Barcode recall

Scan the barcode before you re-buy the same mistake

Salvo does not guess whether a cosmetic is good. It retrieves the opinion that matters for your purchase: the one you recorded after using it.

What the scanner does

Point the camera at an EAN, UPC, Code 39, Code 128 or QR code. Salvo compares the value with barcodes in your saved collection. If it finds a match, it shows your product, stars and note immediately.

If the barcode is new, Salvo can carry it into the add-product form. It does not fetch an ingredient database, produce medical advice or invent a public rating.

Why this is useful in store

Packaging changes, product names sound alike and months can pass between purchases. A barcode is a precise shortcut back to your own record, even when the front label is difficult to remember.

Matching an already-saved product works from local data, so a weak shop connection does not erase your history. iCloud keeps the collection consistent across your devices when available.

Camera privacy

Camera access is requested only when you start scanning or choose to take a product photo. Barcode frames are processed on the device and are not uploaded to Salvo servers. You can also type a barcode manually.
